As soon as you step foot onto the island of Sicily you will immediately be planning your next trip back. Sicily is for many the crossroads of Greeks, Romans, Arabs, and Spanish civilization. With its rich culture in food, wine, art, and architecture you will be sure at first sight be in love.

This 8 day - 7-night tour of the Eastern part of Sicily, will be enriched by the magnificent Mount Etna and all of its sights, smells, and stories. Coming from over 4,000 years of winemaking traditions we will learn about the historical winemaking techniques with the use of the traditional Palmento and the winemaking practices today. How the native varietals Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante, and Minnella have become some world-class wines (Etna Rosso DOC & Etna Bianco DOC). We will go into detail on the verticality of both Mt. Etna how the different eruptions have given different soil structures for these wines, and also how elevation and ancient vine training play a roll in the different characteristics of these wines.

We will also have the chance to visit UNESCO World Heritage cities of Syracuse and Noto and to taste the world’s best granita. A visit to Sicily’s further south to taste some of Italy’s finest chocolates.
