Full week in Italy’s noble north Piedmont.

Italy is known all over the world for its wealth of cultures, food, and wines. But, Piedmont (Piemonte) Italy’s northwestern region bordering Switzerland and France is one of Italy’s undiscovered wealth. Being ruled by the Savoy family until the end of the 19th century Piemonte is a region that was touched by the Celtic-Ligurian tribes, the Romans, Lombards, Francs, until the Duchy of Savoy.

Coming from the literal translation of the foot of the mountain, Piedmont finds itself surrounded by the Alps (Italian Alps in Italy) and to the southwest the beginning of the Apennine mountains. Making Piedmont one of the most naturally beautiful places in Italy, gaining a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. Thanks to its grape vine-covered rolling hills and mystical hilltop towns are just some of the beauty we will discover on this week-long trip.

Piedmont is also home to some of Italy’s most prized foods and wines. The famous Barolo and Barbaresco are coming from the world-class Nebbiolo grape. The Alba white truffles have such a rare and unique umami flavor that every year during the harvest of these precious nuggets of white gold, thousands of travels make a trip in hopes to taste one of these treasures.
