Spring Sample Itinerary

7 DAYS | 6 NIGHTS - SAMPLE ITINERARY This is just a taste of how good it will be

DAY 1 - Barbaresco

Let's start this week off on the right foot and a great way to get you ready for the days ahead. After a lovely breakfast at your hotel, we will plan to meet in and easy to arrive to area of Turin, where we will take off for an hour and a half drive toward the rolling hills for the Langhe.

Our first stop of the day to the town of Barbaresco. A private tour of the town’s famous watchtower will give us a great perspective of the area and also a great opportunity for a couple of great photos.

We will then have lunch at a typical local restaurant. Followed by a short ride on vineyard lined streets to our first winery visit to take some time to talk and taste with this wonderful family.

Our last stop for the day will be to our hotel where we will settle in and will enjoy a welcome dinner with one of the local winemakers of the area.

DAY 2 - Cheesemaking | Dolcetto

This morning we will have a little extra time to relax before heading over to the Alta Langa “high Langa” to go and visit a cheese producer. We will take a few stops along the way to take in some of the highest and most breathtaking views. We will then be greeted by a husband and wife team who will gracefully show us around their small farm where we can meet the animals and learn about their cheese-making process.  We will get to enjoy a casalinga (homemade) lunch prepared by this duo paired with their cheeses and of course some of the locals’ best wines.

After we have filled our bellies we will take a short ride to the town of Dogliani where some of Langhe’s most beautiful architecture awaits us. Dogliani being the home of the grape Dolcetto a stop to one of the most influential producers is a must.

We will then head over to the mystical town of Monforte d’Alba where we will have a walk around the town before heading over to our cozy and delightful dinner.

DAY 3 - All about Barolo

An early wake-up call is in order as there are so many wonderful places to visit in the area of Barolo.

Our first stop on this day will be a visit to the town of La Morra to take in the morning views and a nice walk around this quaint village. We will stop into one of the local specialty shops to taste some of the wonderful hazelnut creations typical of the area before heading over to one of La Morra’s oldest wineries. This family-run winery has been some of the few lucky enough to own some of Barolo’s top vineyard sights in. We will be greeted by the family and will be given a tour of their winery followed by a top cru selection of their wines.

Having built up a hunger from all of these wonderful wines, we will head over to the town of Barolo to meet and have lunch with one of the town’s most historic winemakers. After this 3 course lunch paired with the families tops wines, we will need some time to digest, so a nice walk around the town of Barolo to visit the castle and their small shops is a must.

We will then need to take in a typical Italian aperitivo at one of my favorite spots to grab a glass of wine and just relax watching the people walk by.

This evening we will have some downtime to relax at the hotel or head into town.

DAY 4 - Bubbles & Barbera

This morning you will have some time to sleep in or go for a short morning hike around the town of Canelli before heading out to visit one of the areas oldest sparkling wineries. We will have a private tour of the cellar where will learn the history of sparkling wine in Piemonte and also learn about the intricate process in which it is made.

After we will have a quick homemade pasta lunch at the winery before heading over to the small and remote town of Loazzolo, Italy’s smallest DOCG. We will be greeted by a husband and wife crew who have taken organic and biodynamic to the next level. Being awarded not only for their amazing wines but also for the biodiversity that they have in the vineyards. They are one of the only places to have some of Piedmont’s rarest orchids and butterflies.

With all of this great information from today, we will head back to our hotel to rest a minute and freshen up for our Michelin star dinner to be had this evening.

DAY 5 - Cooking with Grandma | Barolo

We will wake up nice and refreshed after a lovely evening ready to go and learn how to make Piedmont’s traditional pasta. We will go to visit a group of Grandmas who have put together a cooking school we can call them Pasta Grannies.

We will start the morning off with a visit to the famous Alba farmers market. Take some time to walk around the streets of Alba to taste some of the local delicacies. We will arrange for a meeting spot which will be our place for lunch in the bustling city center.

Once we have finished up for lunch we will head north of the Langhe to the area of Roero famous for is mineral-driven white wine Arneis. Here we will visit one of Roero’s best producers and will have the possibility to taste many different examples of this amazing white grape.
